GCSE and Cambridge Nationals / OCR

GCSE

Since 2014 we have supported over 500 students who have chosen Rock Climbing for their GCSE PE. Two bits of feedback we regularly get is that:

  • Students consistently achieve high marks (when they put in the effort)

  • Students that may not perform as well in traditional team sports often surprise school staff with high levels engagement and high scores

Our courses can be run over 2 - 3 dedicated days, or as a series of shorter weekly sessions, at one of several Climbing Walls in the NW.

Cambridge Nationals / OCR

With the rise in popularity of the Cambridge Nationals, we provide a range of activities to suit the R056 – Developing Knowledge and Skills in Outdoor Activities syllabus.

We can also help with provision of Witness Statements, with various options available.

Climbing Wall Services

Staff Training

If your establishment is lucky enough to have your own climbing wall, or access to a local facility we can train your staff to run safe and high quality sessions for your students.

Our courses are run in accordance with the guidelines issued by Mountain Training UK and lead to a Site Specific Statement of Competence, signed off by a Technical Advisor and recognised by most Local Authorities as appropriate evidence of competence.

Technical Advice

We can support you in developing climbing activities for your establishment by working with you to produce Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments, advise on equipment and equipment checks, or provide a competent person, as recognised by the HSE, to carry out these checks for you.
